    About Us

    In 2001, Supercomputing Online started covering high-end computing, communications, and networking issues, applications, research, and more. Since then, the publication has come to be known as the leading news source for high-performance computing professionals. Published by Atomic Communications, Inc., Supercomputing Online will endeavor to maintain the highest editorial and ethical standards.

    Chris O'Neal, founder and Publisher, was the Senior Account Executive at HPCwire before starting Supercomputing Online. Also, he has invaluable experience with supercomputing technologies at Donovan Data Systems (DDS) where he provided in-depth client service. DDS is recognized as the leading supplier of integrated information management systems to the advertising industry. His advertising agency experience at Young & Rubicam New York further strengthens his ability to develop our company. He began his career at Wilson Associates International where he successfully sold asset allocation software utilized by financial planners worldwide. Chris has a Bachelors degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder majoring in Economics and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.

    Tim Little, Editor, started his career with Cray Research in 1978 as an artwork technician. He has a MA in Management from the College of St. Scholastica.

    1979 - He moved into Field Engineering were we helped check out Cray-1A SN 8 in the STCO floor. He was assigned to Cray-1A SN15 shipping to Bell Labs in Murray Hill, NJ.

    1982 - He was assigned Engineer in Charge of Cray-1A SN29 Grumman Data Systems in Huntington Beach Long Island - it was the first Cray site to have a sole Field Engineer.

    1983 - He relocated to the Twin Cities to work in the corporate Data Center as a Sr. Technical Support Engineer - he made many great technical fixes and saved a Cray-1 system from being scrapped and made it the best running Cray-1 in the field.

    1988 - He moved to Data Center Operation staff were he helped plan and lead the implantation team that combined 4 data centers in one super huge 4 level data center facility. During this time he was responsible for moving nearly 50 Cray systems through data center.

    1996 - He moved to Sales Administration and was the head the Delivery and Allocation committee for the entire Cray product line - this included the Cray T90, J90, T3E and all used upgrades.

    1998 - He took over as the Product Manager for the Cray SV1.

    2000 - He crossed over to SGI during the sale of Cray to Tera and took on the role of Marketing Manger for the SGI Intel/Linux workstation and server product.

    2001 - He started Starline Technology and contracted to IDC in their HPC group. He helped launch the HPC User Forum that is sponsored by IDC and have completed several IDC HPC studies.

    2003 - In the processing of launching a new company in the HPC industry acting as a Business Development service by tracking all major RFIs, RFPs and Grant Awards.
