SGI have selected SGI as its preferred technology partner for their shared-memory node, as part of the STFC funded DiRAC collaboration. This is a continuation of the national service offered by Stephen Hawking’s COSMOS Consortium, based at the University of Cambridge. Zhone Technologies announced that through a partnership with BTC Networks, Etihad Etisalat (Mobily), a leading mobile voice and data service provider in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is utilizing Zhone's industry-leading MXK Optical Line Termination (OLT) for its Greenfield nationwide Fiber network. The network will deliver fixed broadband services to residential and business customers using Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology.
