Call for papers -- submittal deadline: April 5, 2012 Multiphase flow – i.e. flows in which gases, fluids, or solids exist parallel to one another – are used in many industrial branches where they have an impact on the efficiency and safety of production processes. This includes the generation of power, nuclear technology as well as the food and the chemical industries. Computer simulations are becoming increasingly important in planning plants, optimizing processes, and conducting safety analyses. For simple flows consisting of only one phase, such as gas, so-called CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) programs are already fairly common.
