EML moves into Mathematikon Heidelberg

The Heidelberg speech technology company EML European Media Laboratory GmbH is now located at its new site in the "Mathematikon", Berliner Str. 45, 69120 Heidelberg. The Mathematikon is a new center for computational science and technology, designed and launched by EML-founder Klaus Tschira (1940-2015).

"The Mathematikon as our new business location provides numerous advantages for a research-based language technology company like us," says EML Managing Director Professor Andreas Reuter. "The proximity to university research and young IT talents creates synergies and opportunities for new projects."

EML European Media Laboratory GmbH is a private IT enterprise established by the physicist Klaus Tschira (1940-2015) in the Villa Bosch in Heidelberg. Based on numerous projects, IT specialists have developed information systems that were brought to the market via spin-offs. One of these spin-offs is Heidelberg Mobil International GmbH, which specializes in mobile software solutions. The company has also moved into the Mathematikon recently and is now a direct neighbor of EML. EML’s main focus is speech technology, especially automatic speech recognition and the conversion of speech into text. The applications of the EML speech software range from the automatic transcription of voice messages to automatic translation and automotive voice control.
