Harvard Medical School's Bimedical High Performance Leadership Summit 2007: The Innovative Cluster/Grid Leadership Award Committee invites submissions from professionals in the Biomedical High Performance Computing field to submit their entry for the 2007 Innovative Cluster/Grid Leadership Award. The Committee is looking for innovations that have been enabling to biomedical research and represent unique, non-traditional, and/or highly successful approaches to implementing grid and cluster resources for biomedical research. To be eligible for the Award, the innovation must be a novel approach that was invented by the submitters and has not previously been published in trade or product literature.
Submissions will be judged on 4 criteria: 1) novelty of approach, 2) replicability -- how easy is it to replicate in common environments, 3) measurable results -- data showing efficacy from well designed evaluations, and 4) usability -- how accessible is the innovation to the target users. Submissions need not score well on all criteria to score highly overall. Submissions must include a) a one paragraph abstract summarizing the project, b) a summary of the cluster/grid innovation in less than 5 pages submitted as a PDF, MS Word, or RTF file, c) brief biographies and contact information for the primary participants in the project. Submit your entries no later than 5PM Eastern Time on August 15th 2007 by email to biomedhpc-admin AT hms.harvard.edu. Entries will be judged by the committee and the top 3 finalists will receive complimentary Summit registration. Announcement of the winner will be made in the afternoon of day one of the Summit. The winning submission will receive a $5,000 prize. The prize will be split amongst the primary participants in the project.
