New Version for Enterprise Workloads Complements Job Arrays Version: At the ISC2007 international supercomputer conference, June 26-29 in Dresden, Germany, eXludus Technologies introduced Grid Optimizer Enterprise Edition, the company's highly innovative patent-pending software technology for eliminating inefficiences in enterprise workloads. "Grid Optimizer Enterprise Edition substantially boosts throughput in clusters and Grids running workloads with tens, hundreds or thousands of concurrent users through its unique real-time job schedule optimization technology. Grid Optimizer enhances the capability and features of existing workload managers, unleashing the full processing capacity of systems while improving single job turnaround and overall throughput simultaneously," said eXludus founder and CEO Benoît Marchand. According to Marchand, a lot of processing cycles on systems are being wasted due to the growing performance gap introduced by multi-core CPUs and the slow evolution in workload management technology. Existing workload managers are not sufficiently multi-core aware, and they cannot react quickly enough to rapidly changing workloads. This leads to wasted investment in infrastructure, power and cooling, and decreased end-user productivity. Grid Optimizer’s cost is easily recovered with just the electricity savings alone. “eXludus' software can dramatically increase throughput. We have seen throughput increases of over 100% on certain codes,” said Paul Calleja, director of Cambridge University's HPCF center. eXludus software improves processing efficiency at major commercial and academic research sites in the U.S. and Europe. eXludus Technologies was singled out in Bio-IT World's list of the top 10 Bio-IT trends for 2007, authored by the BioTeam. Trial versions for both Grid Optimizer Enterprise Edition and Grid Optimizer for Job Arrays are available at its Web site. The Job Array version is downloadable now, and the Enterprise Edition will be available during the month of July, 2007. At ISC2007, eXludus will be exhibiting in booth D31.
