"Dot Hill has a successful track record in working with telecommunications equipment providers," said Tim Dougherty, director IBM eServer BladeCenter. "Dot Hill storage systems are a perfect complement to the durability of the eServer BladeCenter T in meeting the rigorous requirements of the telecomindustry." The SANnet II FC storage solutions feature end-to-end 2Gbit Fibre Channel technology with support for sophisticated storage area network (SAN) and traditional direct attached storage (DAS) architectures. Dot Hill's SANscape(R) and SANpath(R) storage software enable comprehensive remote management and secure storage networking. SANnet II FC storage solutions feature 12 disk drive bays, single or dual controllers, AC or DC power supplies and eight host ports in a compact 2U (3.5 inches high) enclosure. Capacity scales without interruption by adding one or more expansion systems providing an additional 12 disk drive bays each. SANnet II FC solutions deliver very fast performance -- up to 160,000 transactions per second from cache. "Our SANnet II FC is a good fit for IBM's BladeCenter T customers because of its small footprint, high performance and high availability," said Omar Barraza, Dot Hill's director of marketing. "We look forward to working with IBM to provide its BladeCenter T customers with flexible, cost-effective external storage solutions." The NEBS (Network Equipment Building System) standard, developed by Telcordia (formerly Bellcore), ensures products will operate in extreme environmental conditions. In order to meet these standards, products are subjected to and must pass rigorous testing. Dot Hill has been committed to and supported the NEBS standards by testing and certifying its products since 1996. The SANnet II product line has been tested and certified by an independent lab to meet the NEBS Level 3 standard, the highest level achievable and required for telco central office equipment. The SANnet II family of storage solutions provides industry leading 99.9998+ percent uptime in compact, rack-optimized packages. SANnet II brings carrier-grade reliability and enterprise-class features to open systems platforms. The common modular architecture of the SANnet II family provides seamless scalability for future growth within storage networking and direct attached environments. All SANnet II products feature hot-swappable, field-replaceable components including drives, controllers, power supplies, fans and event monitoring units.
