Microway Announces Navion T Clusters Awarded Best 64-bit Turnkey Solution

Microway's NavionT clusters, based on the AMD OpteronT won the award for Best 64-bit Turnkey Solution at the Clusterworld Conference and Exposition in San Jose, California, the company announced today. The Navion was chosen from among eight entrants for this award. Microway's Navion clusters are designed for imaging and other memory intensive applications. Turnkey Navion Clusters are offered with eight to thirty-two dual or quad processor nodes, up to 32 Gigabytes of memory per node and low latency, high bandwidth Myrinet interconnects. Microway's custom 1U CoolFlowT chassis and CoolRackT cabinets employ unique cooling techniques to yield the lowest CPU die temperatures in the industry. Navion clusters include Microway's NodeWatchT/ MCMST remote cluster monitoring and management tools. NodeWatch allows remote cluster management, temperature monitoring and complete cluster shutdown and restart via a web-based GUI. "I was honored to receive this award on behalf of the company," said Stephen Fried, cofounder and CTO of Microway. Since our inception, Microway has been dedicated to taking leading edge technology and using it to build cost effective solutions for the HPC market. We view this award as recognition of our long-standing experience with 64 bit processors, dating to the early days of the Alpha processor." Microway recently announced completion of Opteron compatibility testing of Platform LSF on a Navion system. The company is an AMD Opteron Launch Partner and Intel Premier Provider. It provides extensive consultation services and benchmark capabilities for users evaluating the latest 32- and 64-bit designs. Microway has extensive experience in 64-bit processors as one of the early adopters of Digital's Alpha processors. The company continues to offer products and support for Alpha as the exclusive service provider and distributor for API products.
