MSC.Software Announces Simulation Data Management Contract With Boeing

SANTA ANA, Calif., -- MSC.Software Corp. (NYSE:MNS) , the leading global provider of virtual product development (VPD) tools including simulation software, services and systems, today announced the signing of a contract with The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) for software and services including the MSC.Enterprise Mvision product line. MSC.Enterprise Mvision is a key component of MSC.Software's simulation data management (SDM) technology and will provide Boeing engineers rapid, Web-based access to the vast amount of Boeing engineering materials data. The contract includes implementation services, software development and software purchase for use across Boeing's development sites around the world. As the core data management technology for the Boeing Engineering Materials Data System (EMDS), MSC.Software's MSC.Enterprise Mvision is a Boeing source for accessing engineering materials data via the Boeing Intranet. Boeing's objective is to develop an approved engineering materials data management system to serve as an authoritative source for materials data such as: design allowables, density and modulus. The system will be accessible to authorized engineers and will deliver approved data in the appropriate formats for use in Boeing's design and simulation packages. The software functionality complements, and will be linked with, the services provided by Boeing's existing product data management (PDM) technologies.
