Visual Numerics Releases PV-WAVE Version 9.0

Visual Numerics, celebrating 36 years of producing advanced numerical analysis and visualization software, today announced the general availability of PV-WAVE version 9.0, the next-generation of the company's industry-leading visual data analysis software, with new analysis features, expanded usability and performance, and broader platform support. With PV-WAVE 9.0, Visual Numerics enables engineers, scientists and business analysts in a variety of industries to build visual analysis applications on a wider range of platforms, as well as perform data mining and forecasting of large and complex data sets to better understand trends, patterns and anomalies in their data. Companies in data-intensive industries, such as financial services and retail, collect massive amounts of data about customers and business transactions. However, often times they don’t have sophisticated, customizable analysis tools to identify patterns or future trends from that data. PV-WAVE helps companies develop proprietary applications to better analyze large complex data sets, and make critical business decisions with confidence. Embedded analytics from the IMSL C Library provide both backward analysis and forward predictions on collected data, while the robust PV-WAVE graphics and visualization engine efficiently illustrates data sets using n-dimensional charts, heat maps, and contour maps. PV-WAVE 9.0's new features include:

• IMSL C Library version 5.5 and 6.0 Integration – Access to many new algorithms including Auto_ARIMA forecasting and neural network engine for data mining and forecasting
• OpenMP support for Windows XP – Offers higher performance for PV-WAVE array operations on Windows
• Fast Radial Basis Functions -- New interpolation algorithm that accommodates very general datasets
• Eclipse Plug-in – Allows users to leverage the Eclipse open source integrated development environment (IDE) for development and debugging, and enables new users to more quickly become proficient with PV-WAVE
• Additional Platform Support – Provides users with additional options for using PV-WAVE in different hardware and software environments including Oracle (Linux 32 and 64 bit, Solaris 64 bit) and Windows XP 64 bit
