Exavio, Inc., a manufacturer of high performance storage caching and buffering solutions for digital media, today announced that Brad Winett and Jim Farney have been appointed to its marketing management team. Winett has been appointed vice president of business development, and Farney has been appointed director of market development for Exavio, Inc. Both gentlemen join the company with industry-specific backgrounds that will help them gain an important foothold with their new responsibilities. Mr. Brad Winett most recently served as vice president of business development and marketing for DataDirect Networks, a provider of storage and clusters for HPC and Rich Media. During his 10 years with the company, Mr. Winett spearheaded DataDirect's entry into the supercomputing and Digital Intermediate markets. He also served as acting vice president of sales during DataDirect's introduction of its Silicon Storage appliance family. While at the company, Mr. Winett honed his successful approach to business development, which he intends to apply at Exavio. He joined DataDirect as a vice president of product marketing. Prior to joining DataDirect Networks, Mr. Winett managed major account sales for Hewlett-Packard and was a member of the technical staff at Hughes Aircraft Company. He received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois. Mr. Jim Farney most recently served as senior market manager for Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI), where he helped increase its market share in production and post-production environments. Prior to joining SGI, Mr. Farney served as president and CEO of Pacific Video Resources (PVR), which he founded in 1980. PVR has been known as a trailblazing production and post-production services organization for many years. The company marked several industry milestones such as being the first fully integrated, all-digital video computing studio in the country. Under Mr. Farney's leadership, PVR became a world leader in digital video production, post-production and compression (completing 3,500 feature films) with an international client base. Mr. Farney received a B.S. in journalism/mass communications from Kansas State University, and has won three Emmy awards, both as a producer and editor.
