Force10 Networks and immixGroup Facilitate Government Purchases

Force10 Networks and immixGroup, Inc., a government business consulting and channel management company, today announced that the General Services Administration (GSA) has approved the TeraScale E-Series family of switch/routers for its Group 70 IT schedule. immixTechnology, a subsidiary of immixGroup, will represent the TeraScale E-Series on its GSA schedule, providing Force10 with expanded access to federal, state and local government agencies that rely on GSA schedules as their preferred procurement vehicles. "We provide a true best value solution to government organizations, and we have found that the only way to do that is to partner with vendors that are providing the most advanced technology available," said Art Richer, senior vice president of immixGroup, Inc. and president of immixTechnology. "The Force10 switch/routers have a unique combination of density and resiliency that enables us to provide our government customers with a true performance network." Inclusion on immixTechnology's GSA schedule provides Force10 with the opportunity to pursue government opportunities that demand high performance networks. With industry-leading densities and unmatched resiliency, the Force10 TeraScale E-Series increases network performance while simplifying architectures and reducing total cost of ownership. As Force10's sole GSA holder, immixTechnology can partner with a variety of other resellers and integrators to provide a best-of-breed network solution under a single quote, simplifying the negotiation and procurement process. Already, several government organizations rely on the Force10 TeraScale E-Series to anchor their networks and provide a high performance, scalable core, including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Climatic Data Center and the Department of Homeland Security. "The TeraScale E-Series has a well established presence in national labs, service provider networks and enterprise data centers and is now able to extend that presence to government organizations that require reliable and scalable networks," said John Erdman, vice president of strategic alliances at Force10 Networks. "Working with immixTechnology ensures that we are best able to provide disparate government organizations with the high performance networks they require." immixTechnology was ranked among the Top 50 GSA Schedule 70 Contractors by Federal Computer Week, with revenue nearly doubling in 2004. Through its GSA FSS IT Schedule, immixTechnology provides the government an easy to use contract vehicle that offers advanced leading technologies. The contract number is GS-35F-0330J, and the expiration date of the contract is March 26, 2009. GSA secures the buildings, products, services, technology and other workplace essentials federal agencies need. GSA supports over one million federal workers located in 8,000 government-owned and leased buildings in 2,000 U.S. communities and overseas. The GSA's Schedule 70 includes nearly all of the information technology products and services pre-approved for government purchase.
