Force10 Networks Closes Q2 with Record Revenue

Driven by rapidly increasing demand for its high performance TeraScale E-Series, Force10 Networks today announced record revenue for the second quarter of 2005, which ended April 30. In addition to strong revenue growth, Force10 also expanded its product portfolio with the S50 data center switch and set a new industry benchmark for Gigabit Ethernet density with its 90-port card that raises the TeraScale E-Series to an unprecedented 1,260 Gigabit Ethernet ports in a half rack chassis. "The second quarter was a tremendous milestone for Force10 as we set new revenue records driven by overwhelming demand for the TeraScale E-Series and reaffirmed our high performance leadership with new products that expand our addressable market and provide true investment protection to our customers," said Marc Randall, president and CEO of Force10 Networks. "Force10's growth this quarter demonstrates our customers' validation of the high density and resiliency the TeraScale E-Series delivers." In addition to rapid customer expansion and strong sequential revenue growth, Force10 once again delivered technology firsts during its second quarter. With the introduction of the industry's first 90-port Gigabit Ethernet line card, Force10 can now support 1,260 Gigabit Ethernet ports in a single, half rack chassis, more than three times the density of leading competitors. Customers including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are leveraging Force10's 90-port card to bring previously unattainable scalability into their networks. The 90-port card is made possible by the industry's only five Terabit backplane, which provides ample bandwidth to scale beyond today's speeds of Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet to also accommodate 40 and 100 Gbps interfaces. To further expand its customer base, Force10 also introduced the S50, the first switch purpose-built for the data center. With 20 percent more capacity than competitive solutions, the S50 delivers core-like reliability and stability in a compact, stackable form factor. By bringing the performance and resiliency of the TeraScale E-Series to the server edge with the S50, Force10 delivers a reliable end-to-end solution for the data center. In further validation of the leading performance and reliability of the TeraScale E-Series, the TeraScale E300 won eWEEK's Fifth Annual Excellence Award for networking infrastructure. Earlier this year, Searchnetworking.com named the TeraScale E1200 the Product of the Year in enterprise switching and routing.
