Next Release of COSMOS/Flow to Be Embedded in SolidWorks
LOS ANGELES, CA -- Structural Research & Analysis Corp. (SRAC) and Blue Ridge Numerics Incorporated (BRNI), developers of the popular COSMOS/Flow computational fluid dynamics program, have announced plans to embed the next release of COSMOS/Flow into SolidWorks. COSMOS/Flow is currently embedded in COSMOS/DesignSTAR, which offers full associativity with SolidWorks. The upcoming release will take COSMOS/Flow to the next level of integration inside of SolidWorks, similar to COSMOS/Works, the best-selling analysis solution for SolidWorks users. This is the first step to achieving SolidWorks Gold Partner status for COSMOS/Flow. This new level of integration will allow Fluid-Structure interaction between COSMOS/Works and COSMOS/Flow. Fluid-Structure interaction allows transfer of wall forces, computed during CFD analysis, to a structural analysis study. No other analysis software allows this type of coupled analysis for SolidWorks users. "SRAC with COSMOS/Works was the first SolidWorks Gold Partner, and we are excited about the possibility of adding COSMOS/Flow into the family of SolidWorks Gold Partner Products. We think this will be a real benefit to SolidWorks users," said Suchit Jain, VP of Marketing, SRAC. "COSMOS/Flow is a mature CFD code, built on the foundations laid over the last ten years. It is the most robust fluid simulation program available for SolidWorks users, and now with the embedded interface, it is even easier to use," said Ed Williams, President, BRNI.
