Bull's board appoints Philippe Vannier as CEO
The Board of Directors of Bull, meeting on 10 May 2010, has appointed Philippe Vannier as the new Chairman and CEO of the Group.
Since 2004, Philippe Vannier (50) has been Chairman of the Management Board of Crescendo Industries, a private investment company, as well as Chairman and CEO of Amesys, a company specializing in the development of high-technology electronic systems. Under his leadership between 2004 and 2009, the company, which was founded over 30 years ago, tripled both its revenue and workforce (over 80% of whom are professional engineers) and grew its international business (to the point where it contributes 20% of revenues). Amesys was acquired in 2010 by Bull.
Philippe Vannier, the new chairman and CEO of Bull declared: "I am especially proud to be taking over as head of what is a flagship company in the European IT Industry. From 1996 to 2004, Philippe Vannier was head of Chelton Telecom & Microwave (part of the Cobham Group), having been responsible for establishing the Microwave business in Europe. Between 1988 and 1996, he held a number of senior management posts at SAFT - a subsidiary of Alcatel-Alsthom specializing in energy storage - including Director of the company's Space and Defense division.
Philippe Vannier is a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure de Physique et Chimie de la ville de Paris (ESPCI) and holds a post-graduate degree (DEA) in Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation from Paris IV University. He began his career at Michelin North America, as Quality Manager and then Production Manager.
Philippe Vannier will continue in his role as Chairman of the Management Board of Crescendo Industries.
