SANTA ANA, CA -- MSC.Software Corp. (NYSE:MNS), a leading provider of simulation software, services and systems today announced the availability of MSC.visualCollaboration, a real-time application designed to help engineers collaborate on design and simulation projects, receive training and utilize support services. MSC.Software acquired the technology underlying the MSC.visualCollaboration product as part of the acquisition of Advanced Enterprise Solutions Inc. in July of 2001. The first MSC.visualCollaboration application is currently being deployed by a major Asian automotive manufacturer. "MSC.visualCollaboration is an example of one of the ways we are looking to new markets and developing new applications that can help our customers," said Frank Perna, chairman and chief executive officer of MSC.Software. "The fact that we have already begun working with a major Asian automotive manufacturer using this product illustrates that our services business is moving forward and continuing to find a foothold with both existing and new customers." The MSC.visualCollaboration suite of applications and services allows engineers to share computer aided design (CAD) files, simulation data and other important design information via real-time voice, video, text and graphics. The application supports open GL graphics, multiple operating systems and can be installed on the users desktop or via a Java interface. Using the MSC.visualCollaboration suite of services, engineers can take advantage of many features including multilingual translation and real-time file sharing, whiteboard and mark-up capabilities. In addition to design and testing collaboration tools, engineers can also use MSC.visualCollaboration to receive online training and use help-desk features via 3-Dexpert.com, an Internet-based CAD help desk. MSC.visualCollaboration allows engineers to contact the support services professionals at 3-Dexpert.com directly from the application without having to open a new browser and/or use the telephone.
