Fractal Analytics hosts second annual ai.nyc conference to help industry harness the power of AI

ai.nyc offers a unique opportunity for attendees to learn how businesses can better leverage AI and drive decisions at scale

Fractal Analytics, (https://fractal.ai), a global leader in artificial intelligence and analytics, powering decision-making in Fortune 500 companies, today announced the return of its ai.nyc conference for a second consecutive year. The only industry event of its kind, ai.nyc is designed to help Fortune 500 companies from the CPG, retail, financial services, healthcare, insurance, and telecom industries learn how to better leverage the power of artificial intelligence to maximize business outcomes. The annual event will take place on Wednesday, June 5th, 2019, on the 64th floor of the One World Trade Center in New York City.

CD-adapco report tracks the success of CFD in the marine industry

CD-adapco, provider of computational fluid dynamic (CFD) and CAE software and services, today announced the publication of their Marine Report. The 50-page document features over 20 industrial applications from the maritime industry. These examples explore how CFD has been used to optimize hull shapes, propulsion and steering systems, and to investigate, in detail, the interaction between marine structures and their environment.

The Marine Report features applications from Aker Yards Marine, Azimut-Benetti, Germanischer Lloyd, The Office of Naval Research, The U.S. Navy, Voith, Volvo Ocean Racing and many others. "In common with the other examples in the report, Germanischer Lloyd has used the technology to good effect in their analysis of the unconventional Earthrace vessel, which recently set a new world record for a powered boat circling around the world," said Karsten Fach, Head of Competence Center Engineering Services of Germanischer Lloyd.

Professor Milovan Peric, CD-adapco's Director of Technology and a leading expert on http://www.cd-adapco.com/marine.html [marine CFD __title__ fluid dynamics, flow modeling and thermal and stress simulation techniques technology wrote the introduction to the report: "Substantial improvements in CFD- technology have made its application in the maritime sector an indispensable supplement to traditional experimental and computational design and optimization methods," said Professor Peric. "The report is beneficial for Marine companies who are trying to better understand how and where CFD is being used today, and where its development will lead in the future."

On January 22, 2009, CD-adapco will host an online seminar highlighting a variety of applications featured in the Marine Report. The guest speaker, Mario Caponnetto from BMW Oracle Racing, will discuss current CFD applications for planing powerboats and propellers and relay his experience with the America's Cup Luna Rossa Challenge. The event will also feature a technical brief so attendees can see firsthand the implementation of techniques being used at companies like BMW Oracle Racing.
