Mellanox Technologies has announced CloudX, a reference architecture for building efficient cloud platforms. CloudX is based on the Mellanox OpenCloud architecture which leverages off-the-shelf components of servers, storage, interconnect and software to form flexible and cost-effective public, private and hybrid clouds. Leveraging Mellanox’s high speed interconnect solutions at 40 and 56Gb/s and with the ability to use open source-based software such as OpenStack, CloudX delivers unbounded cloud performance at lower capital and operational cost. CloudX delivers bottleneck-free performance and is the ideal cloud infrastructure to enable the development of next-generation media, business intelligence/analytics, e-commerce, CRM/HR, social media, and other software-as-a-service applications.
